Telehealth for Nassau County Families

Telehealth removes the drive, the waiting room and the time away from school or work. Appointments take place by secure video, and patients can join from home, a private office or any quiet space with an internet connection. All that is required is a device with a camera and microphone, and a smartphone, tablet or laptop all work.

The American Psychiatric Association states that telepsychiatry is equivalent to in-person care in diagnostic accuracy, treatment effectiveness, quality of care and patient satisfaction. Follow-up rates are also higher with telehealth, because appointments are easier to keep.
